El comienzo de la década de los noventa, además de traernos la dolorosa noticia del fallecimiento de Freddie Mercury, también nos traería un nuevo estilo musical que iba a poner fin al hair metal de los 80.
El grunge nacería en Seattle a partir de la aparición de grupos muy importantes: Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden y especialmente Nirvana. Con el auge del grunge, Kurt Cobian (líder de Nirvana) se convertiría en el ídolo de la época y Nevermind en uno de los discos más significativos de la historia, en un año (1991) plagado de grandes álbums como: Ten, Loveless, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, The Black Album, Achtung Baby, entre varios otros.

En 1991 y 1992 se publicaron Out of time y Automatic for the People,
( de R.E.M. ) respectivamente, la mayoria de criticos coinciden en que fueron grandes, y yo los considero unos de mis favoritos ( por si sirve de algo lo que considere yo xd ).
